Congrats 2009-2010 Mentor Recipients

Every Fall, thanks to a strong relationship with our professional chapter, PRSA pairs UW students with a mentor. Through an application process, students are paired with a mentor whom they meet with on a regular basis to ask questions, receive advice, or simply gain a professional's viewpoint. As members of PRSSA, you can benefit from receiving help from professionals in the Puget Sound Chapter of PRSA. As part of the professional PR community, they have volunteered their own time as a mentor for qualifying PRSSA students. Each PRSSA member has the opportunity to be matched with a professional, who will be available for one to two hour mentoring sessions each month. Depending on the experience of the student, mentoring sessions vary. Additionally, more details will be provided at our annual mentor training session.

Branding Yourself Seminar

On October 27th we had a meeting on how to "Brand Yourself", the way to best present yourself for the perfect job. Our guest speaker was Annie Drury, a UW and PRSSA alum who is now doing independent PR consulting as well as web page design. We want to give a big thanks to her and all of those who made it to the meeting.

A New Avenue!

Being that PR is a rapidly expanding field, especially through the internet and social media, UW PRSSA has created this new blog! Our main goals are to provide an easy way to connect to our member base, or those interested in UW PRSSA, and to create an online record of who we are and what we are up to.
